Reporting to the Sanitation and Waste Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of managed services in accordance with contractual obligation. Being hands on and highly mobile you will have the opportunity to visit and audit sites all over Auckland to ensure that the areas are kept as clean as possible.
You will need to be self-motivated, like high levels of autonomy, and have the skills and experience to work in a highly mobile environment. If working outside of an office environment appeals, then this is the job for you.
You will also have a role to play in assisting other service delivery managers in managing our operational staff, which will include:
Assisting the Sanitation and Waste Manager to ensure that all managed services and suppliers across waste and sanitation are being provided to a high quality and cost-effective manner
Maintaining effective and robust quality assurance programs across all waste and sanitation activities, this includes monitoring and reporting of waste disposal, chemical usage, CO2 reduction etc.
Ensure that all audits as allocated, including quality financial, HR, Safety and Risk Management audits, achieve satisfactory results as well as Investigating and correcting issues identified Developing and maintaining operational guidelines for staff.
Coordinating with other SDM’s in different operational issues and promotional activities.
Evaluating current operational strategies and recommend improvements.
Generating operational reports for management as needed
Provide cover for operational management
What you will need:
Tertiary qualifications related to Sanitation or Waste Management Services, or equivalent experience.
Strong experience in leading and managing a team of direct labour employees, including strong interpersonal skills and the ability to train, coach and develop team members
Previous experience of managing service delivery contracts
A full NZ driver’s licence
A strong understanding of health and safety, along with hazard and risk management
Willing and able to work around a 7-day week rotating roster encompassing evenings and weekends
Be results driven, with the ability to influence and manage a range of key internal relationships
