ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Assistant Accountant your primary focus is to support the Delron Finance Manager and Finance Team with the provision support to ensure the smooth running of functions including accounts payable, receivables, and month end. This opportunity will support the continuous improvement of core processes and ensures delivery of services to meet quality and timeliness standards.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Ensure all appropriate accounts payable and purchasing actions are taken for the business
Raising and processing purchase orders and contractor invoices to ensure payment received on time
Investigating invoices “on hold,” reconciling accounts, and resolving queries in timely manner
Consolidation and processing of corporate credit card expenses and monitoring costing of staff expenses
Setting up of new suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring all relevant documentation is current and compliant to Ventia’s standard including Cert. of Currencies
Month-end process and adherence to month end time tables and reconciliations
Assist in the review and analysis of balance sheet reconciliations for relevant business unit general ledger accounts.
To be considered for this role, you will possess the following skills and experience:
Detailed understanding of financial system concepts, principles and processes.
Experience in integrated / interfaced accounting systems / computer applications
Ability to think critically about situations and problem solve
Contract and commercial understanding
Ability to manage multiple and demanding priorities
Hold tertiary qualifications in Accounting or relevant discipline
