About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a SHEQ Advisor to join our team. You will ideally come from a Construction/ Engineering background have a good understanding of the basic SHEQ compliance requirements and legislation.
You will provide support and advice in relation to SHEQ management ensuring compliance with all internal and external requirements.
In addition, you will assist in meeting the Ventia health and safety strategic objectives and drive the implementation of the health and safety management system.
You will be responsible for assisting the SHEQ Manager to:
Develop SHEQ processes to assist the business deliver operations in alignment with strategic objectives
Implement SHEQ requirements at a project level to ensure compliance with management plans, legislation and Ventia corporate expectations
Complete SHEQ reporting requirements to both internal and external stakeholders and continue to monitor safety KPI’s, analyse trends and address as required
Document and report on incident investigations
Continuously improve site health and safety
Perform SHEQ audits to ensure compliance and maintain a high standard of safe working practices
Develop and conduct SHEQ related training
Identify and develop safe systems of work for high risk activities
Provide guidance to key internal relations on SHEQ issues as required
Assist key internal relations to map client HSE requirements against Ventia SHEQ requirements to ensure client expectations are met
Provide feedback to managers and staff on problems or areas for improvement
Provide support to site personnel on risk management strategies, processes and the integration of hazard control/s into SHEQ systems
Plan the implementation of safety systems/programs and initiatives
The salary range for this role is AUD$80,000 – 100,000
Good knowledge of regulatory guidelines governing Occupational Health and Safety within a heavy engineering environment
Previous experience in an HSE function either as an Administrator or Junior Advisor
Formal qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety – desirable
Thorough knowledge of all current Health and Safety Legislation
Demonstrated exposure to a multi-disciplined heavy engineering construction project
Demonstrated ability to engage with all levels of the project delivery team and belief that compliance with identified initiatives will deliver the required results
