The Ventia Boral Amey Joint Venture (VBAJV) is a partnership between three leading organisations which combines internationally recognised asset management expertise with local knowledge and experience to offer world class solutions to their customers. Under the Stewardship Maintenance Contract (SMC), VBA JV are responsible for managing and maintaining the Road Assets on behalf of Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) in the South Sydney area.
About the role
Located at Rockdale, we are looking for a strong, logical and highly motivated SHE Advisor to join the team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the SHE Manager, the role is responsible for supporting the business in educating and promoting safety at our operational worksites and teams.
As the SHE Advisor you will be working in a fast paced working environment, requiring you to be adaptable and able to manage many tasks at once, while working with a high degree of autonomy. As a key member of our team you will have exceptional customer service skills as you may be required to lead investigations and deliver training.
Further key responsibilities include:
Promoting the participation of all people in achieving a safe workplace with zero impact on the environment
Engage with frontline staff and line managers to ensure high standards of safety management
Conduct routine safety inspections to monitor safety process effectiveness
Review project safety documentation prior to works commencing
Facilitate risk workshops for project teams
Review, monitor and audit subcontractor and service provider processes
Reporting on management system and quality performance
As a successful applicant you would have the following abilities:
Diploma in safety or higher desirable
Qualifications as a Lead Auditor and investigator
Experience in the Transport industry
Be available to advise during night works where required or requested
Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver training and small group coaching
Strong Organisational skills including being confident in managing stakeholders at all levels
Excellent customer communication skills, oral and written
