We currently have a rare opportunity available for a qualified HV Electrician to join our team at Sydney Water Potts Hill.
The Sydney Water Contract provides mechanical, electrical and facilities maintenance, servicing over 4.6 million residents in 1.8 million homes in the Sydney, Illawarra and Blue Mountains region. Sydney Water’s operations include 30 water and wastewater treatment plants, 260 reservoirs and over 800 pumping stations and 2,400 buildings across 1,250 sites extending across 13,000km2.

About the role
This role will provide proactive service for our client Sydney Water and reports into the High Voltage Delivery Team Leader. You will safely work towards ensuring electrical preventive and corrective maintenance activities are maintained in a timely and cost-effective manner.
As the HV Electrician you will working in a fast paced working environment, requiring you to be adaptable and able to manage many tasks at once, while working with a high degree of autonomy. You will have exceptional customer service skills as you will be working with a wide variety of contracts, client and customers everyday.
You’ll be responsible for several key activities including:
The safety of fellow high voltage team members and sub-contractors.
Performing maintenance on Sydney Water’s large array of high voltage assets (3.3kV – 33kV) within their greater Sydney Metropolitan, Blue Mountains and Illawarra regions.
Planning of monthly high voltage preventative maintenance work.
Liaising with Sydney Water Plant Team members when planning preventative maintenance work
Performing switching operations/isolations on Sydney Water’s high voltage assets by stringently following high voltage switching instructions.
Issuing of high voltage Access Permits to co-workers and sub-contractors.
Strictly adhering to Sydney Water’s ‘High Voltage Operating Procedures’.
Management of sub-contractors working on Sydney Water’s high voltage assets.
Working safely within a team environment – preferably in a high voltage team environment
Demonstrated field experience performing maintenance on high voltage equipment and/or performing high voltage switching operations – including earthing.
Issuing and/or receiving high voltage Access Permits.
Understanding high voltage Single Line Diagrams.
Sound Electrical and Mechanical aptitude.
Hold a driver’s licence
