About the role
Reporting to the Construction Manager within our NBN Business Deployment on Demand (BDOD) team your primary purpose will be to undertake site assessment activities to ensure the proposed design is appropriate and achievable for new installs or upgrades to commercial premises. Responsibilities will cover the end to end delivery of BDOD SAT activities throughout the project.
The role duties include, and are not limited to:-
Review and understand design packs and drawing relating to Telstra internal and external network
Assess Telstra/NBN’s external network and ensure it aligns with the design and can be used
Assess Telstra Exchanges and identify any infrastructure shortfalls and provide details of the fibre requirements at the exchange
Provide a scope of works for the delivery of services at a client’s site which includes proving of client lead-in, designing the fibre path through the site and identifying the location where the fibre can be terminated and equipment installed
Mark up provided design and provide a photo pack of the required work required
Actively promote and demonstrate cohesion with fellow project personnel
Demonstrate through leadership and example a total commitment to the company and project safety policies and procedures
Your proven experience in the telecommunications construction industry, ideally in design or field design positions, ability to interpret engineering and survey drawings and sound knowledge in telecommunication networks and their construction, including fibre and pit and pipe give you the essentials for the role.
In addition, you must have:-
A good understanding with regard to the formulation and implementation of Safe Work Method Statements and associated risk assessments
Ability to use corporate systems such as a tick of work application
Intermediate skills in the use of Word, Excel and Outlook
High-level communication skills
Good attention to detail
Initiative to work in an unsupervised environment
Efficient and effective time-management skills
Understanding of Telecommunications Infrastructure
Current drivers licence
Current Construction Industry Induction White Card
