About the role At Ventia, we’re proud to manage council assets including parks, libraries and public pools in Howick, Maungakiekie-Tāmaki, Ōrākei, Waitemata, Devonport-Takapuna, Hibiscus & Bays, Kaipātiki and Upper Harbour. We contract to Auckland Council for street cleaning services such as collecting litter, road sweeping, removing graffiti, water blasting, pavement cleaning and more.
Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of orderlies and public facility cleaners as well as supporting the delivery of direct labour services. Having a good working knowledge of waste of sanitation practices will ensure your success in this position.

You’ll be responsible for several key activities including:
Supporting the team to ensure that they are maintaining clean and tidy working environment as well as adhering to Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
Assisting in rostering, delegation of duties and administrative tasks as and when required.
Coaching and mentoring staff to achieve the best possible outcomes for our business and clients
Helping the team achieve the correct maintenance and operation of all equipment, vehicles and mobile plant as required.
Positively contributing at team meetings and toolbox talks
Be qualified in a
discipline [JL1] related Sanitation or Waste Management Services Have a strong understanding of commercial cleaning and Workplace Health and Safety requirements
Be willing and able to work around a 7-day week rotating roster encompassing evenings & weekends
Be highly motivated with strong attention of detail, have a genuine belief in excellent customer service and a "can do" attitude
Be able to work as part of a team and demonstrate effective leadership skills
Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to train, coach and develop staff.
