About the role

Ventia leverages 30 years’ experience in remediation, environmental monitoring, and occupational health and hygiene to provide innovative technology-driven solutions for asbestos management. Our asbestos management team hold Class A &/or  B Licences, and focus on risk management to remove and dispose of all forms asbestos across a wide range of industries.

Due to new project wins and team growth, we have an opportunity for an Asbestos Supervisor to join our team.

Based at our Rhodes office and reporting to the Asbestos Manager, you will provide management, supervision, specialist advice and assistance to our clients on the removal / disturbance of friable (Class A) and/ or non-friable (Class B) asbestos in various residential, commercial and industrial settings. Assistance in the abatement of other hazardous materials may also be required from time to time.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Assist the asbestos manager in the operation of the asbestos group in New South Wales, the development of client relationships and business development of new opportunities
  • Provide asbestos supervision and removal services for projects
  • Provide supervision and assistance on regional projects
  • The erection and maintenance of appropriate asbestos controls (site boundaries, decontamination zone, enclosures etc)
  • Correct use and maintenance of specialist asbestos tools such as HEPA Vacuums and Negative Pressure Units (NPU) and tools
  • Ensuring correct asbestos waste management and containment
  • Coordinating the lawful disposal of asbestos
  • Identify and maintain suitable subcontractor relationships which benefit the asbestos group
  • Provide leadership and direction for other members of the asbestos removal team including Project Managers in the greater Ventia business
  • Documenting/reviewing/maintaining various site paper work including asbestos removal control plans (ARCP), Safe Health Environment Work Method Statements (SHEWMS), licenses and tickets including those supplied by subcontractors
  • Provide assistance in project management such as cost tracking, invoicing and general job monitoring

About you

  • Minimum 3 years' friable asbestos removal experience including up to date certified training.
  • Previously approved as a Class A and or Class B supervisor on a NSW asbestos removal license
  • Proven legislative and technical knowledge across all facets of asbestos removal including soil management and structural remediation.
  • Demonstrated ability for problem solving and delivering projects to a high standard.
  • Proven ability to undertake the role of Friable Supervisor and coordinate labourers and sub-contractors.
  • Demonstrated ability to take a hands-on approach for each job.
  • Excellent people management and communication skills.
  • Demolition experience advantageous.
  • Contaminated land experience advantageous.
  • Elevated work platform and earth moving tickets advantageous.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
