 About the role

A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Workplace Health and Safety Manager to join our committed City of Sydney project team based in the heart of Sydney.

Reporting to the Project Director, and with the support of a Safety Health Environment & Quality Coordinator, you will oversee and manage Work Health and Safety aspects of the contract, to ensure awareness, accountability and compliance to systems, regulatory, client and business requirements.

This role demands a strong focus on leadership and the creation of a true ‘safety’ culture with associated behaviours at all levels to achieve the required outcomes and the ability to provide support, guidance and training to contract personnel, empowering people to reach their full potential.

You must be a team-oriented individual who can operate autonomously and collaboratively within a matrix organisation.

About you

As an ideal candidate you will have:

• Strong WHS Management experience, preferably within the FM or associated industry/s
• Ideally a tertiary education in a related field (Health and Safety)
• Rehabilitation / Return to work certificate
• Solid experience in the implementation and governance of organisational management systems
• Team player with the ability to influence change in a positive manner
• Proven track record in successful management of client relations
• Working knowledge and demonstrated experience in sourcing and integrating WHS legislation, industry standards, regulations, codes and best practice
• Workplace Training and Assessing experience
